Cindie Hicks, Simpson, Hoebelheinrich was born April 30, 1951 in Ellensburgh, WA to Herbert and Marlene Hicks. Cindie was the eldest of seven siblings. Cindie had a special place in her grandpa and grandma Ballard's heart, spending much of her youth at their home and even going on "dates" with her grandpa. As a daughter when Cindie lived next door to her mother in Rosebud they became great friends. As a sister, Cindie was more than a sister she was the most caring and awesome friend.
Cindie met and eloped to Las Vegas with George Simpson on June 19, 1965. George and Cindie enjoyed being with friends and hosted many good times in their home. They were blessed with five children: Annette, Duane, Jennifer, Justin, and Jami. They divorced in 1980.Cindie met and married Merril Hoebelheinrich on February 14, 1981 surrounded by their friends and family. They enjoyed fishing camping and having a great time with friends and family. Tongue River, Georgetown Lake, and Yankton, SD were some of their favorite vacation spots. They were blessed with a son Dustin, and together united their families, Michelle, Nita, and Tina were blessed additions to the family. Cindie's mother-in-law and sisters-in-law shared many special times.
Cindie was a fearless mother, she never thought twice about what it might take to come to our rescue she just did. She made holidays and birthdays the most magical of events, and she gave us traditions that she has taught and helped us carry to our families. She was at our side at the birth of our children, and always said "I wish I could do this for you." Cindie has a special bond with each of her grandchildren, baking "special" birthday cakes, and baby blankets were only a few of the beautiful things they shared. Sleep-overs with grandma were always a special time. Her bed was always shared from her first child to her last grandchild.
She is survived by her mother Marlene Hinkle of Oregon; her father Herbert (Edna) Hicks of Arizona; her children, Annette (Tom) Schafer of Montana, Duane (Marie) Simpson of North Dakota, Jennifer (Terry) Johnson of Montana, and Jami (Andy) Jamgochian of North Dakota; Michelle (Chad) Lemmon of Wyoming, Nita Stewart of Montana, and Tina (Tom) Cubbage of Montana: her brothers Bub (Lydia) Hicks of Texas, Tracy (Pohowa) Hinkle of Texas and Bill Hinkle of Nevada; her sisters Deb (Cliff) Hicks of Washington, Shirley (Evan) Anderson of Oregon, and Cheri (Chris) McCoy of Texas; her 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and many friends too numerous to mention.
