Cindy A. Nicholson was born March 28, 1950 in Newcastle, Wyoming, the daughter of Harold C. and Dorothy Rankin. Cindy was raised in Upton, Wyoming and graduated from High School there. She was raised jointly by her parents, Dottie, and Francis Cowger. Cindy always remarked how most people were lucky to have on set of parents but she was blessed with two wonderful sets of parents.
In 1968, Cindy married Terry Nicholson in Gillette, Wyoming. Together the couple had two children: Brad Nicholson of Raleigh, North Carolina and Franci K. Rohde of Gillette.
Cindy worked as an office manager for numerous construction companies during her career, the most recent being Van Ewing Construction until her illness forced her to retire in October of 2002.
Cindy loved reading, gardening, and being active in the American Legion. She held many positions such as Unit President, District Vice President, District President, and Girls State Director. Cindy also loved traveling, especially to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day and riding with her husband on their motorcycle on these trips. They met many veterans and friends along the way who still stop by to visit every year. They could travel coast to coast and always have a place to stay with people they had met during their travels. She also loved boating and fishing every chance, she got.
The apple of Cindys eye was her grandson, Anthony Paul Rhode of Gillette, the son of Danny and Franci Rohde.
She is survived by her Husband, Terry of Pine Haven, Wyoming; her son, MFLFH, Dr. Brad Nicholson of Raleigh, North Carolina; Her gift from heaven daughter Franci K. Rohde and son in law Danny Rhode of Gillette; Grandson Anthony Paul Rhode of Gillette; her brothers: Marvin Rankin of North Platt, Nebraska, Pudge Rankin of Gillette, Larry Dean Rankin of Omaha, Nebraska, Martin Rankin of Gillette and her sister Debby of Moorcroft, Wyoming and numerous nieces and nephews.
