Cindy Holmen, age 56, of Miles City

Cindy Holmen passed away suddenly Aug. 30, 2014, in Miles City.
Cindy Rae (Limpert) Holmen was born Oct. 27, 1957, to A.W. “Bill” and Kay (Welch) Limpert. Cindy grew up on the Limpert ranch southeast of Buffalo, SD. She attended grade school at the Govert School and high school at Harding County High. Cindy’s pride and joy, her son, Shawn William was born Aug. 8, 1976. She married the love of her life, Harlie Holmen on May 3, 1980 in Miles City.
Cindy and Harlie, along with son Shawn worked on ranches and dairies in the Black Hills area. She spent some time at the Training Center working with the physically and mentally challenged. Cindy had a big heart for the clients and they loved her. Cindy was a very hard worker and loved to cook. One of her former bosses said Cindy was the best employee she ever had. Harlie and Cindy worked for some time in the hotel and food industry in Miles City. In the summer they would bake several items, all from scratch and sell at the farmer’s market in the park.
Cindy is survived by husband, Harlie Holmen of Miles City; son, Shawn (Trisha) Limpert, granddaughter, Serena Limpert and grandson, Malakai Limpert of Belle Fourche, SD; sister, Linnea Burnham (George Smith) of Spearfish, SD; brothers, Sandy (Jacki) Limpert of Buffalo, Albert (Margaret) Limpert of Belle Fourche, and Mark (Rebecca) Limpert of Big Lake, MN; brothers-in-law, Bryan (Shannon) Holmen of Miles City, and Ivin (Carrie) Holmen of Billings, MT; sister-in-law, Diane (Lonnie) Schneidt of Miles City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Kay Limpert and niece, Courtney Limpert.
A family celebration of life will be Sunday, Sept. 7, in Miles City. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Limpert Family Cemetery on the Limpert Ranch near Buffalo, with lunch following at the Limpert Sale Barn.
