Claire Noretta Laisy, age 90, of Circle, MT passed away on April 13, 2007 at the McCone County Healthcare Center in Circle.
Claire was born on September 29, 1916 in Albion, Montana, the oldest of 10 children born to Carlo and Rosella (Cavin) Giannonatti. She moved with the family to the Bull Creek area of Harding Co., South Dakota where she attended the country schools at Cameron School and later Lincoln School. Claire attended high school in Belle Fourche first before returning to Buffalo where she graduated in 1936. On November 21, 1936 she married Claude Albert Penn in Belle Fourche, SD. They lived on the Penn Ranch at Harding, SD before moving to Circle, MT in 1957, where she worked at the ASCS office for several years. In 1967, they moved to Los Alamitos, CA where she worked as an office manager for Dr. Clevelands office. Claude passed away in 1984. Claire and Lyman E. Laisy were married on August 30, 1985 in Buffalo, SD and lived in Seal Beach, CA. In November of 1991, they moved to Florence, MT. Lyman passed away in 1998 and she returned to Circle, MT in September of 1999 where she has remained ever since. Claire was a very hard worker, great homemaker, cook, and seamstress. She was active in the Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Claire is survived by her sons; Robert (Sandie) Penn of Las Vegas, NV and Paul (Randa) Penn of Torrance, CA, daughters; Anita (Larry) Nagel of Circle, MT and Alice Holcomb of Buffalo, SD, brothers; Dale (Annie) Wade of Cheyenne, WY, William Giannonatti of Deer Lodge, MT, sisters; Irene (Al) Gettler of Monterey Park, CA, Romana Anderson of Havre, MT, Viola Jone's of Bowman, ND, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband's, Claude Penn and Lyman Laisy, two sons; Darrel and Neil, brother Daniel Giannonatti and three sisters; Mary Johnson, Regina Smith and Hazel Jone's.
At Claires request, cremation has taken place and private family services will
be held at a later date.
