Clarence Blackie Ulrich passed away at Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton, Colorado on June 20, 2009.

Blackie was born March 19, 1937 in Coal Springs, SD to Adolph and Esther (Clark) Ulrich. He was the youngest of 4 children. Blackie attended school in Lemmon, SD until the 8th grade when he was forced to work and be on his own. He was taken in by Marge and Ray Molitor who had a trucking company. It was from Ray and Marge that he learned all about the trucking business. While in Lemmon, Blackie met Esther Rieker, they were married June 13, 1959. They later moved to Miles City where Blackie continued in the trucking business with Marge and Ray Molitor. It was in Miles City that Blackie and Esther started a family. Tony was born June 6, 1966 and Connie was born February 14, 1969. Blackie worked for Roundup Powder as a truck driver and mechanic for many years, he was forced to retire because of health issues in 1999. Blackie was a member of the Eagles, where he worked with Esther cooking dinners for many functions.

Blackie is survived by daughter Connie Ulrich-Durkin(Keith)and his special grandson Austin Durkinof Thornton Colorado, son TonyUlrich and grandsons Matt and Cole Ulrich of Stillwater, MN; three sisters: Violet Miller, Betty Andeson, and Francis Ulrich. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Blackie was preceded in death by his mother and father and his wife Esther.
