Cleatus Cleat Stevenson, age 74 of Ashland, MT passed away September 1, 2010 at St Johns Lutheran Nursing Home in Billings, MT after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cleat was born on March 23, 1936 to James and Mary (Cenek) Stevenson in Cresco, Iowa.After his marriage to his wife Geraldine, they lived in Rapid City, SD, Colstrip, MT and then settled in Ashland, MT. After 42 years of marriage his wife Geraldine passed away in August 2004.Cleat worked at St Labre Indian School as supervisor of the carpentry shop. He started his business career with the Black Lite, then the Justus Inn, Western 8 Motel and Western Pump. His favorite of these occupations was cooking for his family and friends at the Justus Inn. He liked playing cards, loved to gamble, and enjoyed listening to the Broadus Hawks and supporting his grandchildren's extracurricular events.
Cleat is survived by his daughter, Vicky (Lee) Hofmann and family of Billings, MT, his four sons, Tyrone (Kelly) Stevenson and family of Ashland, MT, James (Donna DJ) Stevenson and family of Ashland, MT, Dana (Roberta Bobbi) Dockendorf and family of Thorton, CO, Randy Dockendorf and family of Phoenix, AZ, as well as Sheryl, Debbie and Rodney of Iowa. His grandchildren, Tammy (Terry), Kimberly, Jacque, Joshua, Brenden, Britni, Terry, Wesley, Shelby, Lorin, Levi (Jennifer JJ), Mindi (Jason), Daniel, Jeremiah, Jessica, and Jarrod. His great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Cassandra, Samantha, Meagan, Wyatt, Thaddaeus, Isabella, Amber, Braden, Everest and Samson, his brothers, William, Gerald, Irvin and Francis.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary, wife Geraldine, sisters, Deloris, Alice, and Geraldine and brother Donald.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
