BlytheGrenz, 70, died peacefully at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Friday, November 18, 2005.
Born October 3, 1935 in Miles City, the daughter of Daniel R. and Cleo Marie (Greer) Browning, she attended local schools here. During her high school years she excelled as a vocalist and appeared in musical productions as The Pirates of Penzance and Mikado, graduating from CCHS in 1952. She earned a music scholarship and to save money for college, she worked summers on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
She graduated from MacMurray College for Women, Jacksonville, Illinois and majored in music. She then taught English and music in the public school systems of Chicago, Illinois and Big Timber, Montana before returning to Miles City. She married JamesGrenz and partnered in raising their family while operating the Alta Trailer Court.
In those next years she taught piano, directed the First Methodist Church choir and sang in other community choral groups. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and an activist for local school issues.After the children were grown, she managed Super Eight Motels in Miles City and Cheyenne before working for the Corporate Office in Aberdeen, South Dakota and traveled across the United States training personnel for management.
She is survived by sons Phillip and Garth; daughters, Denise McHugh, Jami (Mimi), and Lisa Gland; three sisters, Elizabeth (Bessie) Barrett of Billings; MarciaEntzel of George, WA; Patti LeCraft of Miles City and a brother, Mark of Miles City; and several grand children and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two nephews: Joel and Cory.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Miles City. Interment will be held in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
