Cleveland died after a short illness. He leaves behind his spouse of 45 years Corliss, his children Cleveland Jr., Gordon, Evelyn, and Eugene, one granddaughter Jewel. Sisters Farris Janis Evelyn Umtuch, adopted sons Edwin Whiteman Sr., and all the boys that hung around the house, enjoyed night fishing, hunting, going to Pow-Wows, sometimes he puts all of them to work. He had a lot of respect of his ceremony ways as Sundance Priest (grandfather) piercing and fasting as Cheyenne and Lakota ways never turn anyone down for help or prayers. He had a special friend of 20 years Andy Storm as they talk over a 2 strands of barb wire. He was a champion singer and traditional dancer. He met a lot of friends in the states throughout Canada. He enjoyed being a Heavy Equipment Operator and truck driver; he swore he can make a truck purr like a cat. He leaves behind many relatives and friends he likes to tease his in-laws; The Creator took him home even though his work was unfinished. We will all miss him, but he can now join his relatives and friends that left before him.
He made his home among the Cheyenne Tribe for over 40 years. He was always selected to say an opening prayer or dance in with an Eagle staff. He leaves behind an empty spot at a sweat also at the table.
All we have left are memories. We would like to thank the staff of IHS Clinic, St. Vincents, Ambulace Service and the Police Department. All the people that brought food, etc., and to visit and pay their respect, Deacon Joe brought a lot of comfort also the ceremony people for their prayers

My Prayers and thoughts go out to the family. May you be blessed with comfort and strength as you go through this difficult time. May you continue your journeys through this life in a good way as “Cleve” begins his journey into the next world. Cleveland was a very good teacher and I will always cherish what he taught me. I will always be grateful for everything that he did for me. I will miss him dearly, But I know that he’s now in the “Spirit World” with his friends and relatives who have gone there before him. Now, our relatives have a singer, dancer and all around “GOOD” man to help them out over there! But let us all remember Cleveland for all the good things that he leaves us with. A’ho!

Condolences to the Bull family. Throw all your burdens on God in prayer now and in the days ahead, and the Bible promises that you will receive “the peace of God.” Philippians 4:6 &7. Our prayers are with you.

Cleveland my friend, I will miss you dearly we had a lot of fun over the years. I will miss your your smiling face as you would saunter into my office and we would sit and have a cup of coffee talk about life and family. I am not going to lie I will miss you Cleveland Holy Elk Boy you were a true friend. I will miss your calls coming from Lame Deer MT on two strands of barbed wire. Also when you would remind me of when you were looking for a part for a Dodge years back and I told you that you can find parts for a Ford in the parts department but you had to go to the junk yard to find a part for a Dodge. You never let me forget that. I remember the first vehicle you bought from me it was a black Ford shorty conversion van with port hole windows and a 3 on the tree. You said Powwow’s here we come!! Travel safe my friend as you travel the path to heaven and remember to give me a call on two strands of barbed wire from inside those pearly gates so that I know you made it there safe. Rest in peace my Friend you will be missed. P.S. I included a picture of you and me dealing on a car we had a lot of fun.

Thank you, Holy Elk Boy, for letting me sit around the drum and sing the wonderful songs you chose. The time you gave me a ride to the South Dakota border from Lame Deer those songs we sang are still very much in my mind. Farewell my friend!
