Clifford Oscar Wolfe passed away June 7, 2019 while residing at Cottonwood Care Home with his daughters, Linda and Ladell at his side. Cliff was born September 28, 1919 in Westfork, Montana to Charles and Thresa Wolfe. Cliff was one of seven children Alfred, Charlie, Mary, Sylvia, Ruby, and Shirley who all predeceased him. Cliff graduated from Scobey High School and started a long career in the livestock industry. He married the love of his life, Violet Sophia Cornwell on September 27, 1940. Seven children were born to Cliff and Violet (deceased):
Jerry (deceased), Evan (Susan), Joliet, MT; Judy (Scott) Slinker, Riverton WY; Linda (Vern) Heisler, Fromberg, MT; Shirle, Riverton, WY, Jim (Linda), Butte, MT and LaDell (Donald) Muri, Miles City, MT. He also leaves 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Cliff and Violet ranched on the Hog Ranch at Wolf Point, MT then in Richey, MT. They moved the family to John Scott’s TN Ranch on the Powder river for several years before Cliff started a new career as a Brand Inspector for the State of Montana working in Billings, Choteau, Wolf Point, Dillon, and Kalispell. During his career with the state, he graduated from the Montana Law enforcement academy and became a Stock Detective with law enforcement powers. Cliff retired from the State about 1995, but continued to work as a contract inspector for many years. He also worked for many eastern Montana ranches doing day work including the Diamond Ring, Coffee Cattle Co., and the LO to name a few. Cliff had a great love for horses and trained some of the best cutting horses in Eastern Montana in the 1950s. When Cliff showed up to help work cattle, he was always well mounted on a horse that would get the job done. Cliff was inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame in 2019.

What a loss! But we know he was missing Mom! He is probably with his old Pards gathering cattle and swapping stories , and waiting for Mom to put dinner on the table, with some pie and coffee . It is probably good to be back in the saddle again! He will be missed so much ,but we know he is happy to be back with the love of his life ! Our thoughts, love and prayers are with you all, Ron and Susi Wells

So sorry. My sympathy.
V. Walters says
My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Clifford. It can be very difficult and distressing to cope with the loss of a loved one. It has helped myself and others knowing that our dear loved ones now rest in the loving memory of our Grand Creator, Jehovah. ( Psalms 83:18-God’s name). May you find comfort to know that Jehovah hates death. ( 1 Cor. 15:26). And promises to eliminate death forever and bring those sleeping in death back to life on a cleansed earth. ( John 17:3; Isaiah 25:7,8; Acts 24:15; Rev. 21:4,5; Psalms 37:10,11,29). I hope these few scriptures along with your own good and loving memories of Clifford help to bring comfort, peace and a hope.
