Cody Gordon Carlsen was born February 1st, 1980, in Sidney, Montana. He passed away on October 1st, 2017. Cody was the son of Leslie and Sally (Hickok) Carlsen and brother to Laramie Dean-Young. Cody grew up primarily on a farm outside of Richey, where he learned how to work with horses, cattle, sheep, and pigs. During his childhood Cody developed a strong interest in history, focusing on the Civil War, which led him to re-enacting battles across the country and collecting Civil War memorabilia. Cody was also an excellent mechanic; during the final years of his life, he worked with his father at the Carlsen Sinclair Station in Circle, where he offered excellent service to the community.
Cody is survived by his parents, Les and Sally; his brother, Laramie (Ryan); his sons, Tyler Smith and Sam Carlsen; his wife, Nancylee (Cadorette) Carlsen, and her children, Joseph (Larisa), David (Amanda), and Casey (Katie); his grandfather, Tom Hickok, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. We miss him and will always keep him in our hearts.

He was always there when I needed him and now I will be there if you ever need me. May you rest in the arms of the Angels Cody I love and miss you but you will not be forgotten and you will be in my thoughts and prayers and in my heart forever.

My sincere condolences to the Carlsen family. Find hope and comfort in the promise found at Revelation 21:3-4 (“and death will be no more”). I hope the cherished memories of time spent together with Cody helps ease your pain in this time of sorrow. May the “God of all Comfort” be close to your hearts in the coming months and years. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is one of the hardest things we ever have to face. I find comfort in the Bible particularly John 5:28 where God’s word tells us there will be a resurrection of those in the memorial tombs. Isn’t it a wonderful thought to see our loved ones again? I hope this brings you comfort as it does me.
Tina Martini says
My deepest sympathies and prayer go out to Sally, Les, Laramie and the entire family. May Cody rest in Glory. You are all in my thoughts all of the time.
May you find comfort in the memories of your dear Cody.
May God Bless you.

To Laramie, Ryan, Les, and Sally – I am so sorry to hear about Cody. I didn’t know him well, but I remember that he had a good heart, a zest for life, and a ready smile. He was taken too soon.
