Interment: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
Connie K. Anderson, 51, after surviving cancer without recurrence passed away from related complications on December 29th, 2005 surrounded by her family in accordance with her final wishes. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Connie Kay Higgins Anderson was born on July 12, 1954, to Floyd James Higgins and JuneReamy Higgins of Miles City, the youngest of 5 children. She was notable for her stubbornness, her ability to make friends, and her long golden blond hair and blue eyes. She graduated from Custer County High School in June 1972, and worked in Miles City at the Custer County School Administration office, the Miles City Star, and the Production Credit Association before marrying the love of her life, David Anderson on June 28, 1975. They were blessed with 3 children, Molly, Eli and Noah. Connie and her family moved from Miles City to Colorado as Dave began his career in the coal mining industry, living in Craig, Colorado Springs, Rangely and Brighton. Her main focus was always on her children and her husband, her parents, both brothers and their families, and her sisters and their families. She was an avid collector, reader, needle worker and gardener. Connie liked to argue politics and never backed down. Connie and Dave had 30 happy years together, and planned to travel the country after his retirement, Dave golfing and Connie scouting out treasures in second hand shops and antique stores. During that 30 years Connie ran a day care, worked in a video store, in a bakery, and in Rangely and Brighton as a teacher's aide for special needs students.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years David Anderson, of Brighton, CO; her children Molly (Charles) Anderson Childers of Durango, CO, Elias (Dayna expecting Connies 1st grandchild) Anderson of Denver, CO, and Noah Anderson of Brighton, CO. She is also survived by her mother June Higgins of Miles City, MT, sisters Carla (Roger) Muggli, Miles City, MT and Cheryl (Scott McNeil) DRemy,brother Mike (Myrna) Higgins of Miles City, MT.
She was preceded in death by her father Floyd Higgins of Miles City, MT and oldest brother John Higgins and by many aunts and uncles. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Dotty (Herb) Watts Livingston, MT, Roberta Cauthron of Bozeman, MT, Kayrene Higgins of Laurel, MT. and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
