On May 10, 2025, just one day before Mother’s Day, Connie King passed away in Billings, MT. Connie was born on August 23, 1929, and lived a long and full life to the age of 96. She was born in Huntley, MT to Arthur and Icyle Rich Croy. She was raised in a beautiful, large white home, which she loved and talked of often.
Connie enjoyed growing up in Huntley and graduated from Huntley Project High School. After graduation she accepted her first job with a drugstore in Billings, MT, due to her being able to speak Spanish. After a year with the drugstore, she moved to Long Beach, CA and lived with her older sister while working.
Connie decided to return to Montana, where she met a young man, Willy King. Willy and Connie were married in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Billings, MT on April 26, 1946. They lived in Billings until 1949 when they moved to Miles City, MT.
Connie and Willy raised five children together. In addition to raising their children, she was involved in the Catholic Daughters (Sacred Heart Parish) and Sacred Heart School PTA.
Connie enjoyed cooking, baking (especially after school snacks), and sewing costumes for her children every Halloween. She also enjoyed decorating her home for every season, especially Christmas.
Her family was her life. She was a good listener and enjoyed teaching her children the skills of life. She was a gentle, kind and caring soul. She faced life struggles and handled them with her strength and character.
Gone is her smile, her laugh and positive upbeat approach to life.
Connie is survived by her sons: Patrick King, Michael (Suzanne) King and Donald King; daughters Christine (David) Sullivan and Camille (Dwayne) Rude; nephew Don (Judy) Richards; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, son Timothy, her sisters, Elva Bryan, Olive “Todd” Bauman, Orpha “Skeet” Richards, her brother Arthur, and great grandson Gavin.
Love you Mom, rest in peace…

Connie was the sweetest lady! Although we didn’t get to know her in her younger years, the kids and I were blessed to have several visits with her while we mowed her lawn! Rest in peace!
