Cora May Patrick, age 80 of Forsyth, MT. passed away February 21, 2025, at Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth, MT. surrounded by loved ones.
Cora was born on June 24, 1944, in Jordan, MT. She was the daughter of James P. Davis “Stub” and Virginia C. (Kipf) King. She grew up with her four brothers Patrick H. Davis, James W. Davis, Dale Davis, Benjamine A. Davis, and her sister Lennice V. (Davis) Wood during her early adolescents. She attended school in Jordan and Miles City, MT. In 1957, Cora moved to Miles City, MT with her mother. Cora worked alongside her mother who owned Victoria’s Upholstery until her mother’s passing in 1989.
In 1976, Cora met Gary L. Patrick, and they married in a Rosebud, MT church on September 3,1977. Cora was an instant bonus mother to Lee Ann (Patrick) Woodward, and Lesa Wilkens Beam, whom she loved dearly. Cora became a mother to her two boys Jay E Patrick in 1979 and Lee H. Patrick in 1981, whom she adored. Cora was a one-of-a-kind mother and wife who poured her heart and soul into loving and caring for her family.
In 1991, Cora and family moved to Forsyth, MT., which became their home base. Cora worked as a waitress for the “Blue Spruce” and “Rails Inn” until she hung up her apron in 2006. Cora and Gary also had a small ranch just north of the river, where she enjoyed tending garden, farm chores, and enjoying the animals. She enjoyed her retired days, keeping up with her children and chasing (spoiling) her grandchildren. Cora loved to travel, dance, and visit with friends and family. In 2003 Cora was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After her operation, she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2008, where she received chemotherapy. In 2010, Dr.’s found Cora had a brain tumor that was removed. She remained in remission. Cora still managed to persevere, being called a walking miracle. She was one of the kindes, strongest, and most loving individuals you could meet.
Cora was preceded in death by her husband Gary L. Patrick; Father James P. Davis “Stub); Mother Virginia C. King; Brothers Patrick H. Davis, James W Davis, Dale Davis and Sister Lennice V. Wood. She is survived by her children, Lee Ann Woodward (Jeff) of Stafford, AZ; Lesa Wilkens Bean of Casper, WY., Jay E. Patrick (Tracy) of Forsyth, MT., Lee H. Patrick (Rose) of Forsyth, MT.; Brother Benjamine A. Davis of Ashland, MT.; 9 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephew.

My husband and I (Tracy’s grandparents) had the honor of meeting Cora a few years back before her husband had past. She was a very warm and sweet lady and we were fortunate to have met her.
