Corbin Nelson Jerrel, age 13, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

Corbin was born on August 17, 2002 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City. He attended Highland Park Elementary, Lincoln School and Washington Middle School.

Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing and riding four wheelers. His ultimate passion was being at the family ranch.

From an early age Corbin was a very active boy. Any sport or activity he tried he excelled in. At age three he tried hockey – he constantly fell down but didn’t give up – he always got right back up and kept going. He was involved in many activities throughout his short life. Some of these included baseball, basketball, football, and his all-time favorite, wrestling.

Corbin was constantly on the go. He loved riding bikes and hanging out with friends, building pontoons, woodworking and going to the lake. He also enjoyed having airsoft wars with as many friends as he could round up. He spent many weekends with his “second” family, Ginger, Adam, Wyatt and McKade Carpani. During the 6th grade Corbin found his passion in life, wrestling. he excelled very quickly and went on to win 1st place at the 2015 Montana Open. This past month in March Corbin took 1st place in the Montana AAU tournament which qualified him for the National AAU tournament. Corbin was always very proud of his wrestling accolades.

Corbin is survived by his parents, David and Sharla Jerrel and sisters McKinsey and Briar of Miles City, MT; grandparents Raymond and Peggy Jerrel of Miles City, MT, Wally and Bernadine Nelson of Cody, Wyoming; aunts and uncles Shawna (Randy) Rothaus and their children Michael, Austin, and Jaryd of Edmonds, Washington; Greg (Kathie) Nelson of Clyde Park, MT and their children Josie and Josh of Billings, MT; Shari (Tom) of Belgrade, MT and their children Brandon (Kalen) of Sherman Oaks, CA and Blake of Laramie, WY; Godparents Ann & Shawn Neary of Gillette, WY.

Corbin was preceded in death by his aunt, Shelley Nelson Wettstaed.

Visitation will begin Monday, April 4, 2016 from 1-6 pm, with family receiving friends from 4-6 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Grace Bible Church, Miles City, MT., with Pastor Steve Rice officiating. Interment will follow at the Custer County Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

    I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know Corbin I would see him at wrestling helping wtih the kids during practice. He was great with them. I know there are no words right now that will take away your pain you are all feeling. Just know that God has gained an Angel and he will always be watching over all of you!   191. Did not have the privilege of knowing ANY of you but our thoughts and prayers are with you because we know how it feels to lose a son. We lost our BELOVED JC Taylor on May 10, 2016 and it nearly killed us. There is no way we can express how much we do know how it feels and how we feel for you also. Best wishes. It took me over 4 months for the brain fog to lift somewhat but yet from the beginning to appreciate the wonderful memories and times we did have with our son. We do know how it feels.
