Corey Ray Blackwolf, 43, of Rockyboy, MT, passed away on August 10,2020.
Corey was born on July 11,1977 in Havre MT to Frederick Blackwolf Sr. and Evelyn BigKnife.
Corey attended Rockyboy, Box Elder, and NC tribal schools. During his high school years, Corey enjoyed sports such as, track, football, and basketball. Corey was very artistic in beading, making head dresses and dancing regalia.
Corey worked as a firefighter in Lamedeer and Rockyboy, Irrigation in Chinook, and was also a carpenter. Corey participated in the Cree Sundance, sweats, and powwows. Corey believed in both ways, Cree, and Northern Cheyenne.
Corey loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very kindhearted and was always willing to help others.
Corey is survived by his Longtime friend, Henrietta DAychild, his children, Layton Blackwolf and Jeremiah Eagleman, adopted daughter Lilly Daychild, mother Evelyn BigKnife, sisters, Sandra Blackwolf of Rockyboy MT, Michelle Blackwolf, Freda Linder, brothers;Frederick Blackwolf Jr, Rueben Blackwolf Sr, Hugh Bigknife, Ray Bullbear,Darrell Whiteman, and Julio Brady. Aunts;Jamie Whiteman, Alice BigKnife, Minnie BigKnife. Uncles; Woodrow, Hubert,OrinJohn, James Jr, Allen Jo, and Robert Blackwolf.
Corey is preceded in death by his father Frederick Blckwolf Sr, grandparents James and Sarah Blackwolf, BigKnife and Flora Stump, Walter, and Florence Blackwolf, Alfred and Don Mcmanus, John,Joe,Sky BigKnife.Aunts; Dorothy, Jean, Mary BigKnife and Wreatha Plentycamps.
Extended Families include Roundstone, Killsnight, Shoulderblade, Walkslast, Wolfchild, Daychild, Gopher, Stump, Siouxcalf, Mcmanus, Wolfname, Bearquiver, Birdhats, Whistlingelks.
Corey will be greatly missed by his children, friends, and family.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support during this difficult time.
