In Memory Of

Cortney A. Brady, 36, of Colstrip

August 7, 1979 – March 19, 2016

Cortney Alaina Brady, 36, of Sheridan, Wyoming, formerly of Colstrip, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Busby, MT.

Cortney was born on August 7, 1979 in Detroit, Michigan to Michael and Joan (Rogers) Brady. Her family moved to Colstrip, MT, where she was raised and attended school. After graduation from high school, Cortney attended Blanco Blanco in Billings to become a Hairdresser. She later moved to Sheridan, Wyoming.

Cortney leaves behind her two sons, Cadence James Norris, 9, and Keon Brady Norris, 6. They were her pride and joy and her most important priority. She enjoyed spending time with them.

A true cowgirl to the core, Cortney loved riding horses, participating in rodeos through Team Roping and Barrel Racing, and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, and attending Pow Wow’s. She loved all animals, always had an animal as a pet, and often had more than one at a time. She lived life to the fullest and participated in almost anything under the sun with her boys. Cortney truly had a zest for life.

Cortney was preceded in death by her grandparents Mervin & Elaine Rogers and Frank & Gloria Brady.

She is survived by her parents Michael and Joan Brady; her sons Cadence and Keon Norris; her sister Breann and soon to be brother-in-law Mike Hansen; Aunts and Uncles: Ronda (Don) Everingham, her Godmother; Rex (Donna) Rogers, her Godfather; Lana (Scott) Fountain; and Pat (Don) Graham; as well as many cousins and other family members.

Cortney’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 4-6 PM at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 25 at 1:00 PM at Life’s Journey Church in Colstrip, with Rod Benner officiating. My heart goes out to you Mick and Jo, and your grandchildren and Breann. She had an attitude for life that my Dad and I both admired very much. I can remember her and Rene hanging around often at our corral riding our horses whenever they got a chance. She was the only one I ever saw ride that big, jar-headed gelding we had. I always looked up to her after that. Her smile was contagious, and I’m sure she will delight our Father in Heaven with her presence. All of Colstrip grieves for the loss for your family. My prayers are for understanding and guidance for your family in the weeks, months, and years ahead. She will be in my thoughts as we celebrate the promise of new life through the sacrifice of Christ and the grace poured out for us. She joins the generations of loved ones who have passed from this world to the next, washed clean and reunited with our Creator. My deep condolences to everyone who knew Cortney, she will be missed by so many.
