In Memory Of

Count Robinson age 54 of Lame Deer, MT

November 9, 1960 – January 17, 2015

Count W. Robinson, “Vostas-Enestoohe” ( White Buffalo Howling) passed away January 17, 2015 at the age of 54 in Billings, Montana.  Count was born in Crow Agency on November 9, 1960 to Buell and Priscilla Harris Robinson.  He was raised on Muddy Creek on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation along with his five siblings, as well as many cousins and friends.

Count attended St. Labre High School, graduating in 1979.  Count was very active as a Brave, participating in wrestling, football, and high school rodeo. Count was a talented bull rider and team roper. He and his brother, Tommy, made it to the High School State Rodeo in team roping in 1978. In football, he was awarded All-Conference his senior year. After high school, Count continued to travel throughout the country to ride bulls. He was proud to be a Muddy Creek Bronc, along with his brothers, Timmy and Tommy, and his favorite cousins Monty Rowland and Jeff Robinson.

In 1989, this cowboy met a nice looking Mexican girl named Linda Bixby at a dance at the Kirby Saloon and they were together for 25 years after that.  Count took Linda’s two kids, Misty and Ryan, as his own and in 1991 they had a wonderful son, CJ Robinson. Count and Linda endured many hardships together but their love for each other helped them through these times.

Count was known for his sense of humor and loved to tease his many friends and relatives.  He always had a good story to tell about someone.  Even during his long stay in the hospital, he kept everyone laughing with his wild stories.

Count grew up helping his father ranch and he continued ranching with his mother after his father died. He later worked for Robinson Construction until the time of his illness.

Count was preceded in death by his father, Buell, grandparents; Major and Nellie Robinson, Alice and Joe Whitewolf, and Raymond and Bertha Harris; uncles Michael and Raymond Harris Jr., Clifford Foote, Dave, Bee and James Robinson, aunts; Eloise “Dolly” Beartusk, Eleanore Anderson and Celesta Spang.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, CJ, Misty and Ryan; mother, Priscilla, sisters; Patti (David) Means, Pammy Robinson (Prunie Wilson) of Lame Deer, and Tana Robinson (John Snell) of Dunmore, brothers; Tommy (Lana) Robinson of Lame Deer and Timmy (Sara) Robinson of Ft. Washakie, Wyoming; grandchildren; Dyani, Kaison, and Marley, in-laws; David and Dominga Bixby, aunts; Juanita Lonebear, Joy Foote, Arvelous, Letha, Eloise, and Justine Whitewolf, Patricia Rowland, Laura (Leon) Sioux, Maria (Earl) Charette, Annie (Charlie) Messer, Dee Dee (Hymn) Alexander, and Alberta Twenty Stands; uncles Isadore and Joseph Whitewolf, Clinton and Matthew Harris, and Richard Foote; special nieces and nephews, Brandi, Corey, Kara, Tom, Victor, Nicole, Wally, Kaylor, Kemlee, and Tassey (who shares the same birthday with Count). Count’s extended family include the: Robinson, Whitewolf, Beartusk, Spang, and Harris families. We apologize if we missed anyone, as our family is large and too numerous to mention.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Cheyenne Nation in Lame Deer.  Burial will be at the Robinson Family Cemetery on Muddy Creek.

We will miss you husband, father, son and brother.  “I will love you Count always and forever.” Linda.

The family would like to thank Darla at the Riverstone Health Hospice Center for her compassionate care of Count and her kindness and comfort she extended towards his family at the time of his passing.

Our most sincere sympathy to Linda, CJ and all the Robinsons.. Count was a dear friend. We laughed so many times, and had many discussions from—rodeo’s , fencing–horses– and just everyday things. We always enjoyed seeing him and one thing for sure we would always laugh. I recall being gone back to Wolfpoint one weekend and Pam calling and saying how thankful she was for Count showing up to rescue one of our colts from our dogs. Another time Count helped me to kill a rattlesnake under the log. He was so good hearted and a good person. My years being in Lame Deer brings me many good memories. He will be missed—- He is part of my fondest memories. It is comforting to know we will see Count again. We are so sorry. Your family will be in our prayers. We love you

to count robinson family; my thoughts are with you Priscella and family in this darkest of times at Muddy Creek. I really cherished the memories w/ Count when i went visiting w/ my late little brother Wallace Three Irons and Prunie W. at Muddy Creek in the 1980’s, 1990’s and the last 2007. We all had a great monumental time of laughter and put-downs of our lives with each other. Thanks for the unforgettable memories Count! A’ho…
