Cynthia Gackle, age 86, of Miles City, MT passed away on March 12, 2005 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.

Cynthia was born on January 20, 1919 in Watkins, MT to Gottfried and Christina (Kalmbach) Gackle. She was raised in Watkins where she attended country school at the Gackle Country School near Watkins. In 1938, Cynthia graduated from Brockway High School. She attended business school in Great Falls, MT and then went to work on the west coast as a riveter, building battleships during WWII. Cynthia moved to Helena where she worked for Western Union until 1954, when she moved to Miles City which has been her home ever since.

Cynthia is survived by her brothers Alvin Gackle of Terry, MT and Howard Gackle of Brockway, MT, a sister; Eleanor Habel of Auburn, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Oscar, sisters Alma and Palma.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow at the Prairie County Cemetery.
