Dale Ross was born October 4, 1941 in Plentywood, Montana, the son of Willard & Joan Ross. He attended grade school and high school in Plentywood. In 1960 he joined the National Guard. Dale married Sandra Tymofichuk and they were later divorced. They had two sons: Terry and Monty. He was also married to Leanarda Murphy and they also were divorced.
Dale operated a hot oil business, then worked for Murphy Oil Well Company of Poplar. In later years, he worked for a gravel crushing company, also in Poplar. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved to cook and work in his shop.

Surviving are his mother Joan Ross of Plentywood, his sons Terry and Monty, both of Poplar, Montana; five grandchildren: Gary Ross, who is Terrys son and Sherry, Jennifer, Misty, Ellie and Monty Adam Ross, children of Monty. He is also survived by a sister Judy Morken and her husband David of Hungry Horse, Montana and Yuma Arizona

Dale died October 17, 2003 at Deaconess Hospital, in Billings, after having four strokes and surgery.

Funeral services for Mr. Ross will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 7pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Poplar with a one hour visitation prior to services. Graveside services will be held in Plentywood on Wednesday, October 22, 2003.
