Dale Wynn Williams, age 82, of Rapid City, SD formerly of Sonnett, MT passed away at his home in Rapid City on October 9, 2007.
Dale was born on March 24, 1925 in Wall, South Dakota the son of Frank and Hazel (Percy) Williams. He grew up north of Wall where he attended Sunnyvale School. He attended high school in Wall, graduating from Pierre High School in Pierre, SD. Dale entered the United States Navy during WWII where he served in the Pacific Fleet and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then returned to Wall, SD where he worked for various ranches and the South Dakota highway department. He married Janice Hall on October 2, 1948 at Rapid City, South Dakota and they remained in Wall until 1955 when they moved to the Broadus area working for area Ranch until 1973 where they purchased the Wallace Palmer Ranch at Sonnett where they ranched until 2006 before moving to Rapid City, SD.Dale was a member of the Powder River Lodge #135 AF & AM for over 48 years, joining in June of 1959.
Dale is survived by his wife Janice of Rapid City, SD, his children Kristy (Bill) Eskew of Champion, NE, Wade (Cindy) Williams of Mount Pleasant, MI and Penne Williams of Rapid City, SD, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, siblings; Muril Parkin of CA, Percy (Bud) Williams of Phillip, SD, Pearl Lurz of Wall, SD, Lynn Williams of Wall, SD and Loy Kellem of Rapid City, SD.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Monty, his parents Frank and Hazel and brother Milo Williams.
Should friend desire, memorials may be made in Dales memory to the local hospice program in Broadus, MT or Rapid City, SD.
