Eddie and Mary Jo, I did not ever get to know Dan ever well enough; quite obviously my loss. Loss, true loss, now for us all. May we all rejoice to be reunited in Heaven forever and ever and ever and ever and ever; that is eternity.
Joe Carabello says
Dan was the first Big Horn River guide i ever spent a day alone with 26 years ago and we did again every year since then. I last fished with Dan September 2015 and he was as full of beans as he always was, if not a little slower. I will always remember his laugh and great sense of humor. He taught me and my sons-in-law more than we could have ever learned about fishing. He was true river rat and a fine individual. I offer my deepest condolences and wish you the peace of the Lord. May he rest in peace.
Tanna Peterson Aye says
Ed, Mary Jo and family, I am at a loss for words on the passing of Dan. He was a fine man and I remember when he left the fire dept to follow his dream. I am so glad that he was able to do something he truly loved. My thought and prayers go out to you.
George & Maggie Holom says
Ed and Mary Jo, we didn’t know Dan, but extend our sympathies in your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dell Despain says
When I started guiding on the Bighorn it seemed that a lot of the guides were unfriendly and unapproachable. Not Dan, he has always been one of the most friendly out going people to be around. I admired his work ethic and his love of the sport of fly-fishing and his kind attitude towards other people. The Bighorn river won’t be the same place w/ out him pulling on the oars in his old green boat. Rest in peace Dan.
Squeek Parker Shuttles says

Ed, Mary Jo and family: Thank you for letting me be a part of Danny’s service. You touched my heart. The stories you shared made me feel as if I had lost a long time friend- even though Danny and I never met. You have a wonderful service planned- one that would make Dan proud.
Matt McMeans says
Dan was one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. He was always helping friends and neighbors fix a problem. He had an amazing work ethic that he carried right onto the river. Danny will be deeply missed by all the “H20” rats on the “Horn”.
