Dana Robert Blanchard, age 58, of Miles City passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Dana was born in Concord, New Hampshire on May 25, 1953, the son of Robert Maurice and Marilyn (Gates) Blanchard. He attended schools in Concord, New Hampshire and graduated high school there. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Army where he served in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Concord where he lived until 1994. He then moved to Miles City where he worked for Eastern Montana Industries as a group worker for nearly 13 years. Due to a heart attack, he was forced to take an early retirement.
Dana loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed watching sports. He loved spending time with his family.
Dana is survived by three sons: Michael Blanchard of Helena, MT; Jason Blanchard of Concord, NH and Jesse Blanchard of Miles City, MT; two daughters: Nicole Blanchard-Radford of Grantham, NH and Tracy Blanchard of Concord, NH; three sisters: Denise Mathew of Limestone, TN; Diane Emeney of Miles City, MT and Laurie Wilbur of Hillsboro, NH; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 1579.
