In Memory Of

Daniel Dukart, age 78, of Fallon, MT.

Daniel Valentine Dukart, age 78, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on January 22, 2020.

Dan Dukart was born in Killdeer, ND on February 14, 1941. He was the third child of Eva and Anton Dukart Sr. Dan and his family moved from North Dakota to Eastern Montana in 1955. Early on Dan began working for Henry (Hank) Gaub on his ranch in Fallon and Cabin Creek. This is where he found his true calling for being a cowboy. Dan enjoyed helping out any neighbors or friends who needed a great cowboy. On August 27, 1961 Dan married Shirley Gaub in Terry, MT and to this union they had two children Darren and DeeAnn.

Dan and Shirley eventually took over the family ranch and farm near Fallon. He also worked for many years at the Glendive Livestock Exchange but Dan’s true passions in life were riding and roping. He was a long-time member of the Cracker Box Route Roping Club and had many favorite horses over the years as well as two special dogs Abraham and Cowboy.

Dan’s favorite time of year was branding season. He would go from neighbor to neighbor helping them from sun up to sun down. Something Dan held in even higher regard than ranching was family. His family was very important to him. He especially loved when his grandchildren and great grandchildren would come to visit him. He also took great pride in carrying the American Flag for many community parades.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton Sr. and Eva Dukart; son, Darren Dukart and five siblings, Irene, Kit, Jim, Jr. and Bob. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; daughter, DeeAnn (Chris) Neumann; grandchildren, Dani (Tim) Hudson, Cierra and Skyler Neumann; great grandchildren, Coy and Raelynn Hudson; one sister, Betsy Hoffer and daughter-in-law Delite Dukart.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope American Lutheran Church in Fallon, MT. Memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Should friends desire condolences can be made to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
