Daniel Emeline, 52, passed away in Broadus on May 3rd, 2013.
Dan was born on September 23, 1960 in Miles City to Lloyd (Butch) and Beth Fairbanks Butcher. In 1963, Beth married Levi Emeline who adopted Dan and his siblings. In 1978 Dan married Zonda Gunnels. They had two sons, Kenith Lee born in 1978 and Shannon Ray born in 1980. Dan met Tena Olson in 1994. Their daughter Elizabeth Ruby was born in 1996. Dan proudly told people he’d roofed for “over 30 years.” He was especially fond of sharing his “storm chasing” experiences. Dan worked hard and played hard. He loved hiking, fishing, and camping – preferably in the Beartooths , hunting, dueling guitars with Bob, gold panning, and anything & everything related to Montana Moss Agates! He was amazingly talented & could build anything.
Dan is survived by his wife Tena Olson of Broadus, son Shannon & wife Kristyn of Glasgow, daughter Elizabeth of Broadus, and by siblings Linda Coppedge of Kent, WA, David & Velma Bourn of Miles City, Lloyd & Colette Butcher of Miles City, Alice & Wayne Nile of Miles City, Judy & Ed Henderson of Billings, Doug Emeline of Miles City, grandchildren: Alexander, Natelie, Zanoblia, Georgia, Kenneth, Allenah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his buddies – Bob, Lowell, Jeff, Norm, Mark and his other “kids”- Maggie, Jake, Mike, Mark, Misty, Sissy, & Gangster. Dan was blessed to have such special people in his life.
Dan was preceded in death by parents Lloyd H. Butcher & Beth Emeline, a brother Leon Emeline, son Kenith Emeline, and ex-wife Zonda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A potluck picnic will follow at the Pumping Plant in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements

I am truly touched by Dan’s death. I just find the whole episode so surreal. I considered him a good friend and I feel so cheated that he is gone. He never seemed to be affected by the stresses of life, he was so laidback and happy. He was always up for a fishing trip or a barbecue. I will miss his great stories, quick wit, and smile. The world will be a little gloomier now without him to liven things up! I hope he’s happy and content where ever he is now and that he’s having fun in the sun with a cold beer in his hand and a fishing line in the water for that “Big one that might get away” God be with his family during this very difficult time. Those of us who are left behind never understand why things like this happen, we just know that our hearts are broken and filled with sadness, we just want time to be reversed and for things to go back to what they were before and to be able to be with that person just one more time.

Tena and Beth,
Wanting you to know how very sorry I am and that you are in my thoughts. I find times like this hard to come up with something articulate to say and really, I am not sure any of that matters….what does matter though is that we in this little community have a great bond of friendship. Please know that all of us care about you and want to help. For now, we will say a prayer and send strength your way. You are in our thoughts and on our mind. God Bless you……

Dear Family and Friends of Daniel Lee Emeline – Please be comforted by Bible promises at this difficult time. Be assured that it was not a part of the Creator’s purpose that people suffer and die. Everything made by God was “very good” (Genesis 1:31). Death was not a part of God’s purpose but was introduced by Adam’s disobedience (Genesis 2:17). There will come a time when the dead are resurrected (John 5:28, 29) and death will be no more (Revelation 21:4). Faith in Bible promises will ease our pain in the time of this loss. Meanwhile, treasure the many beautiful memories Mr. Emeline left. Meanwhile we have the opportunity to follow Jesus’ instruction to continue to take in Bible knowledge which gives us comfort and hope (John 17:3).
T. Kelly says
Please accept my sincere condolences. May you be comforted by the hope found in God’s Word, the Bible, which promises that one day the earth will be a place free of pain, mourning, sickness and death (Revelation 21:4). These words were written to bring comfort to us and I hope that they bring you a measure of comfort and help you to cope during these most difficult days.
