In Memory Of

Daniel Swift, age 41, of Miles City.

June 18, 1980 – July 20, 2021

Daniel Lee Swift journeyed home July 20th, 2021.  Danny was born to Janette Carpenter and Bob Mitchell on June 18th, 1980 in Miles City.  He grew up in Miles City, and it was there he met the love of his life, Judy Smith, in 1999.  The two were married at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 18th, 2001.  The couple would go on to have four beautiful children.  Danny loved to work with his hands.  He worked construction, roofing, mechanics, snow removal, and other various jobs over the years.  In his free time, Danny enjoyed spending time with friends and family.   He really enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to spend time fishing, hunting, or floating the river.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Bob Mitchell of Belt, MT, and his Grandparents, Archie and Alice Swift.

Danny is survived by his wife, Judy Swift, and his four children; Archie, Madison, Nathan, and Ashton Swift.  He is also survived by his mother, Janette (Dan) Carpenter, and two brothers, Christopher (Kayla) Carpenter and Aaron Carpenter.  Danny came from a very large, extended family, which was full of aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.  Danny was loved by many, and will be forever missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.  Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery.

My dad was a very prideful man and was there if anyone ever needed any help. He took care of his family no matter the situation and when he wanted something he saw it out, if that was construction or mechanics he could do it all and he never gave up. Dad you will always be remembered for who you were and what you did.

Danny was a wonderful and kind family man. He loved his wife and kids and would do anything and everything for someone in need. He would literally give you the shirt off his back and he was always a great shoulder to cry on. I will always remember how kind and thoughtful he was and how he was always there when you needed him.

Danny was my best friend, love of my life and better half. He was everything that I wasn’t. He taught me and loved when he was able to show off his teaching skills. He was an amazing dad and loved his children more than life itself and all his “adopted” kiddos that also called him dad with loving affection. He loves being outdoors and working with his hands and I don’t care if he was just raking your yard or cutting down the biggest tree in town he was the hardest worker around. He worked hard, played hard, loved hard and fought hard. He would bring anyone into his home that needed help and give you the shirt off his back, only rule was don’t hurt or disrespect his family. Behind the scenes he was a goofball that would dance around in his boxers or lay in bed with me and watch a sappy movie and cry at all the same parts. He loved his animals from Garfield and Snowballs to Snoop and Quinn and Felony. He loved fishing, swimming and hunting, his friends and family. He was carefree and just went with the flow. He made me feel like I could do ANYTHING. Everyone who knew him loved him, his blue eyes that you could see through to his soul, and his contagious grin especially when he was up to something. He had his faults but no one in this world doesn’t and he wouldn’t judge anyone for theirs. He was One of a KIND. I CAN’T SAY GOODBYE BABE, JUST SEE YOU LATER KEEP WATCHING OVER OUR KIDS FROM UP THERE AND I’LL COVER DOWN HERE CUZ IT’S A FULL-TIME JOB, YOU’RE MINI ME’S. ❤️ THANK YOU FOR THE LAST 23 YEARS AND 4 KIDS AND FOR BEING YOU!!

Danny I knew you more as brother than a cousin and you will forever loved and missed. I lost a part of my soul when the lord took you from us and I can never get that part of me back. Us cousins were more brothers than cousins as we were all very close to each other. Dear Lord God I lift Daniel up to you Lord God. I will love you always and 4-ever bro
