In Memory Of

Darla Hawk, age 51, of Miles City

December 24, 1972 – February 16, 2024

On February 16, 2024, Darla Diane Hawk “Stink Butt” passed away peacefully at home in her sleep surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

Darla was born on December 24, 1972 in Glendive, Montana to William and Sharon Hawk.  She was the baby of the family.  Darla grew up in Wolf Point, Montana later moving to Miles City in 1985.  She graduated from Senior High School in Billings, Montana.

In March of 1993 she had the first of her four children, Kaylynn.  Then TJ in February of 1995, Sioux in June of 1999, and Dakota in June of 2000.  She also has eight grandchildren: Ari, Milo, Emma, Niko, Molly, Wayne, Lakious and Zophia.

In 2014 Darla met Jeff Sanders, the love of her life, and her adventures began.  She returned home to Miles City in 2020 where she lived until her passing.

Darla was a wild and rebellious soul, never caring what anyone thought.  She always did everything on her terms, no one else’s terms.  Darla lived her life to the fullest, always ready for what she called activities.   She loved playing pool, drinking beer, and hanging out at Parkers with her friends, mainly Angie, her favorite bartender.  Gambling and playing Bingo on Tuesday nights were also among her loved activities.  Most of all, Darla loved being a grandma.  She loved her babies!

Darla was preceded in death by her mother Sharon, brother Scott, grandma Mary, grandpa Daniel, grandma “Boc” (Ina), grandpa Tony, aunts: Patty, Sandy, Connie, Queenie and Sharon and uncles: David, Sherman and Ira.

Darla is survived by her father William, sisters Denise and Debra, brother Billy, children: Kaylynn, TJ, Sioux and Dakota, grandchildren: Ari, Milo, Emma, Niko, Molly, Wayne, Lakious, and Zophia, nieces and nephews: Deidre, Tony, Michelle, Paige, Jordan, Jamie, Ashley and Thomas, great nieces and nephews: Ryan, Rowdy, Mae, Tatum, Hendrix, Maddie, Brexton and Kathleen, and her favorite niece A’laya (LaLa).  Sorry to forget anyone.

Special thanks to Patsy with Hospice for helping in her final days, Dave Smith, and all of her friends who gave comfort in the end.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. A celebration will follow at Parkers Bar.

Hawk family you are all in my prayers at this time. Darla was a joy to be around. She cared and loved her family so much – even if there were troubles. Pool is where we became friends. She loved that game. I use to play against her for years but eventually it was easier to have her on my team as she was a good player and hardly ever missed a night! So much fun was had with her and all. Rack ’em up, knock ’em down. Darla – you be ready for a game when I come to the pearly gates!❤️ Rest easy for now though! ❤️
