In Memory Of

Darlene Soldierwolf, age 68, of Lame Deer

July 3, 1953 – November 20, 2021

Darlene Killsontop SoldierWolf, Ve’hona’e “Chief Women,” was born on July 3, 1953 in Sheridan, Wyoming to LaVerne and Alice(Hisbadhorse) Killsontop. On November 20, 2021 she journeyed to the other side of the camp to be with her Lord and Savior. She was raised in Kirby, MT and later moved to Busby, MT. In high school she attended the Morman Placement Program In Seattle, WA. After high school she returned home and met the love of her life, Manford SoldierWolf. They married on April 27, 1973 in Sheridan, Wy. and made their home in Muddy Creek. Of this union they had three daughters; Rachel, Lorna & Mariah. They loved and cared for many children including; Nicole SoldierWolf, Jolauna Pickett, Michelle Sherman, Randy Bighead, Lynwood Hisbadhorse Sr, Steven Littlewhiteman, Anthony Baker and many more. She worked various jobs, but she was always brought back to caring and loving children. Her strong faith in God allowed her to help children who were in need. She loved every child like her own. Her compassion and love carried her through her job for more than 20 years as the director of Rosebud Lodge. She is survived by her husband of 48 & 1/2 years and their children: Rachel (Charlie)Spang, Lorna, Mariah (Jesse), Nicole SoldierWolf, Jolauna (JD) Pickett, Michelle (David) Sherman, Lynwood Hisbadhorse Sr. and Randy Bighead. 35 plus grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She loved and acknowledged so many children, she was a mother and grandmother to everybody she cared for. Her brothers and sisters: Verda King, Evaleen Braveheart, Lester, Troy Killsontop, Pauline HighWolf, Stella Wallowing, Jenny, Orlena, Zola Killsontop & Sissy Falcon. Preceded in death by her Parents; LaVerne & Alice(Hisbadhorse) Killsontop Siblings; Arlene Hisbadhorse, Laverna Wallowing, Darwin Killsontop, Vern Killsontop, Aline Killsontop & Larold Littlebird Sr. Sons; Steven Littlewhiteman & Anthony Baker. Nieces & nephews; Vera Watahomigie, Allison HighWolf, Stormy Crozire & Alison Littlewhiteman. Grandchildren; Kaylor Scott, Waylon & Carla Bighead. Extended family includes; Hisbadhorse, Eaglefeathers, Rowland, Bite, Strangeowl, BigHawk, Little Coyote, Stopped Eagle, Limpy, Young Man, Bear Tusk, White Wolf, Medicine Top, King, Fox, Fighting Bear, Hollowbreast, and Evans. Our family is large so in our grief if we have missed anyone please accept our apology. The family would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

    So sorry to hear about my friend taking her journey she was fabulous that’s what I called her because that’s what she was n she had a fight in her she was tough but had lotta love in her n wanted to help those in need, gonna miss u Darlene 😢 but I know u’re dancing on them streets of gold I’ll see u when I see u again, prayers n most heartfelt condolences 💐 to her beautiful family, love u Darlene 💜💜💜💜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

    Condolences to Darlenes family, I had the privilege to work with Darlene at the Cheyenne Depot and learned early on Darlene was a strong lady. I really respected her work ethic and we got along great..Send Prayers for her Family 💔🙏

    Darlene it was hard to hear of your passing,Nicole called. Remembering when we branded, Manford and you , the kids would help, thinking all the good times. Mom and I will miss you. Tell my Dad that I miss and love him.
