Darrell James RedDog Jr., age 34, of Poplar, MT, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Billings, MT due to an extended illness.
Darrell James RedDog Jr. was born July 7, 1976 in Poplar, MT to Darrell RedDog Sr. and JoAnn Russell in Poplar, MT.He grew up and attended school in Poplar, MT and worked as a firefighter.Darrell loved spending time with family and friends. He was a kind hearted and gentle person who loved to laugh and bring laughter to others. It is this quality that Jr. Bear will be remembered for most. He especially loved and cared deeply about his nieces, Roxanne Morsette of Bismark, ND; Antoinette Toni Simons of Poplar, MT; Brittany Ferguson of New Town, ND; Kristien Ferguson of Poplar, MT; nephews, Tyler and Lane Ferguson of Poplar, MT; and grandchildren, Aeyana and Aiden Bear of New Town, ND.He was very close with his sisters Farrell Simons of Poplar, MT, and Tracy RedDog of New Town, ND. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Darrell RedDog, Sr.; his sister, Tammy Lynn RedDog; nephew, Maurice Morsette; cousins, Deron and Derrick RedDog; aunt, Karin RedDog; uncle, Erroll RedDog Sr.; paternal grandparents, Leland and Lorraine RedDog; maternal grandfather, Daniel Russell; grandma, Catherine Russell; grandpas, Earlwin and Desmond Muskrat.
Darrell is survived by his daughter, Shanna Robertson of Poplar, MT; mother, JoAnn Russell of Poplar, MT; sisters, Farrell (Dennis) Simons of Poplar, MT, Tracy RedDog of Newtown, ND; brothers, Richard Russell and Sheldon Youpee, both of Poplar, MT; grandmothers, Vida Muskrat, Louise Ell, Gloria Chopper, Pearl Hopkins, and Lorraine Stormy, all of Poplar, MT; aunts and uncles, Bruce and Mary Nordwick, Stephen and Judy Gray Hawk Jr., Lonnie and Lyda RedDog, Gale and Bonnie Menz, and Norman Muskrat, all of Poplar, MT; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery in Poplar, MT.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com.
