In Memory Of

Daryl Hinther

Funeral Service: Upon Daryl's wishes, cremation has taken place.

On April 23, 2009 Daryl P. Hinther of Jordan left his earthly home to play with a band of angels in his heavenly home above. Daryl had been fighting mental illness for several years and this foe finally won and took him before his wife, Elayne, family, and friends were ready to let him go. He and his infectious smile will be greatly missed by all.

Daryl was born to Fred and Martha Hinther in Jordan, MT. on April 20, 1954. He lived most of his entire life in Jordan working as an expert mechanic, an accomplished self-taught taxidermist, and a musician who could play or repair most any stringed instrument you gave him.

Daryl married his best friend, Elayne Jessen, June 29, 1973 in Jordan where they have lived and worked together since then. He and Elayne built up a thriving taxidermy business which they recently sold. They continued to do contract work for other taxidermist. They were in the process of starting a new venture in repairing and rebuilding stringed instruments. Daryl had just obtained two patents; one for taxidermy work, and one for instrument repair. Daryl and Elayne never had children, but their two cats, Bugzy and Tinka, will surely miss Daryl and his music.

Daryl was loved and is survived by his mother Martha of Jordan, three sisters, Marion (Lloyd) Rowton of Mosby, Elaine (George) Fitzgerald of Jordan, Leila (Monte) Massar of Miles City, and his brother Leroy (Mary) Hinther of Blomkist, MN, sisters-in-law Penny(Dale) Wells from Meeteetse,WY and Pat (Ed) Deleon from Torrington, WY, brothers-in-law Charlie(Karlan) Jessen from Tacoma, Wash. and Duane(Terri) Jessen from McCall, Id. He will also be missed by a host of nephews and nieces whom he enjoyed greatly.

Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Fred P. Hinther, and his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Esther Jessen, and his grandparents.

Memorials in Daryl's "memory of life" can be made to the Garfield Co. Nursing Home or an Animal Shelter of one's choice. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Jordan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
