David Allen Eichelberger, born February 12, 1961 in Keyser, West Virginia went peacefully on his journey after a courageous battle with cancer in the arms of his loving wife at Holy Rosary Healthcare on May 11, 2016.
David grew up in the mountains of West Virginia. He loved to hunt and fish. He spent countless happy hours in the woods or on a river bank. But this small town boy felt he was destined for bigger things and struck out on his own to Baltimore, Maryland. He married the late Edna Dunithan, to this union David Eichelberger, Jr. was born September 25, 1979. David had a second son Andrew Eichelberger with the late Michelle Adams on December 10, 1981. He married his wife Cheryl Thiele on September 6, 1985. The following year they welcomed they’re son Daniel on August 16, 1986 who would be Dave’s new hunting and fishing partner to the very end. In 1991 Dave moved his family back to West Virginia where they welcomed their daughter Kayla to the family just one day after Dave’s birthday on February 13, 1992. Dave had expected her on his birthday but being stubborn like her Dad she came on her own day in the middle of a snow storm. The family moved to Miles City, Montana in 2006 after several vacations to Montana that had made Dave fall in love with the wide open spaces. His proudest moments were to watch his son David graduate college, walk his daughter Kayla down the isle at her wedding and to accompany Daniel on an elk hunt last fall which was a dream come true for him and he was excited to prove that he could still keep up even after his first cancer surgery. He made many good friends here in Montana and often said he had finally found his home. He always had a kind heart, a hardy laugh and an infectious smile. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, parents Mary and Joe Parrish, New Creek, WV, his son David (Maggie) Eichelberger, Rochester, NY, son Andrew Eichelberger, Romney, WV, son Daniel Eichelberger, Forsyth, MT, daughter Kayla (Noah) Miller, Winifred, MT, daughter in-law Diane Stewart, grandson Tyler, granddaughters Taylor, Kayla, Andreanna, Emmalee and great granddaughter, Aubrey, Greenspring, WV, granddaughter Madison Eichelberger, Burnt Cabins, PA, grandsons David, Sean and Aiden and granddaughter Bella, Rochester, NY, granddaughter Nora June, Winifred, MT, brother Joey (Donna) Parrish, sister Diane Parrish, Elk Garden, WV, sister Sandra Parrish, Harman, WV. many more family members.

Dave words cannot express how you will be missed. You were such a selfless man. I can’t even count how many times you have helped others without compensation. For Instance, my grandmother. She is known for falling down and when she falls she just can’t get back up. But you allowed her to put you as #1 on her life alert caller and would rush over there no matter where you were at. I can’t even begin to say thank you for being there for her when we couldn’t be!!!! You will definitely be missed by soooo many. Thank you for being in my life and showing me what it truelly means to care!! May you fish with the best up there, where no pain is time ever be felt again!

Cheryl and family I am so sorry for your loss. I first met David when we worked at walmart and there was never a day that would go by without him saying good morning. Then I found out we only lived down the street from you guys and every time I was outside he would always honk as he turned to go home and I will miss that this summer when I am outside changing the water and not hear the horn honk and no wave. He will be truly miss by all. God bless you and your family.
