In Memory Of

David Squires, age 73, of Miles City

October 24, 1948 – September 14, 2022

David Squires passed away at home on September 14th with his family close by.

David’s kids and grandkids will carry on his love for family, friends, dogs, spicy food and his hobbies of hunting, fishing, square dancing, tennis, cooking and brewing beer.

David & Mary’s 40th wedding anniversary was September 18th and God’s timing led them to celebrate earlier this month with family and close friends.

David was very passionate about teaching kids to fish and making sure those in need had a fishing pole available. He requested kids fishing poles or donations for kids fishing poles in lieu of flowers for his memorial.

The Squires Family invites all David’s friends to join them in sharing memories of David at a Celebration of Life at their family home in Miles City on Saturday, September 24th at 2PM. A Military Burial Service will be held at the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City on Friday, September 23rd at 3PM.

Please bring a chair on Saturday for the Celebration of Life.

Mary and family – My sympathies to you all. Dave was a great guy and an outstanding employee. Lots of public land recreationists owe a debt of gratitude to Dave for the many signs he installed, helping many public land users navigate the maze of public land boundaries. So much of his work was done prior to the time BLM or hunters had GPS units. I am sad for Dave’s passing but happy the pain of his illness will be felt no more. All the very best.

    To the Squire Family,
I’m so very sorry for the loss of Dave. I always enjoy our conversations during line cleaning and days he was in for lunch. Such a kind, funny, an outstanding man. His passion could be felt everytime you were around him. One of the most found memories was when I gave the new super hot sauce to the table and he was the first to dunk a fork and take the whole thing, my heart dropped because that was easily the hottest thing I have ever tried yet he didn’t blink and said how good it was. He will be greatly missed and to all the family if anything is needed, I’m here. Much love to you all at this time of celebration of Dave. So very blessed to have met him
