David Lancaster passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, November 3, 2013 on route to Holy Rosary Hospital. He was 55 years old.
David William Lancaster was born on January 4, 1958 in Hollywood, California to Ethel and Gene Lancaster. He was supposed to be a Christmas baby but he was just a little late his mother always said. He lived in California until 1968 when the family moved to Broadus. He graduated from Broadus High School in 1976.
During his younger years David worked out in the oil fields. In the 80’s he went to work for the State of Montana as a Department of Transportation Officer. He also worked part time for the Sherriff’s Department in Broadus. He was also the Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator for quite a few years. There were many days that he did all of those jobs in the course of a weekend.
While working as a DOT officer he was constantly traveling. While traveling he met Carri Hagemeister. They married in 1995 and had two children a daughter Alexandria and a son Connor. All of David’s free time was spent with his family. Most of the time, he thoroughly enjoyed giving his children a hard time. He was constantly cracking jokes and being an all-around smart ass. No matter how difficult he was you couldn’t help but laugh at his shenanigans.
David was a Masonic member of several lodges. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He was an avid collector of weaponry and anything involving dragons. It was always cause for celebration when the two came together. David also owned The Gunrunner up until his passing. He sold many guns to many people who also shared his love for firearms.
David is survived by his loving wife Carri, his two children Alexandria and Connor as well as his loyal dog Thor. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

Carri and family, I used to work with Dave in the old days of MCS when we were both Patrol Officers. I enjoyed his humor and benefited greatly from his experience and knowledge. I remember him always being so positive, even as the going got rough. I believe he is at peace now and that we will all get to see him again someday.
Alex and Connor, I know your pain, I lost my Dad just under two years ago. Time will help you all deal with it, but you will never forget him and will always remember the good times. God Bless you all.

Carrie & family, I have put off writing, because I didn’t know what I could possibly say. I am speechless . My heart is breaking for you and the kids. Even though he didn’t live a long, full life, he had the best things in life. He had worth, respect, but most important he had love and family. Please know that I grieve with you as well as for you. God bless.
J Johnson says
My sincere condolences to the family of David William Lancaster – May you find comfort in your loving memories, great pictures and in recalling the many talents of Mr. Lancaster. It was not God’s purpose that mankind suffer and die and has promised that a time will come when no one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). The Bible promises a resurrection of dear family members and friends that we have lost (John 5:28, 29). The Paradise that was originally promised for the earth in the Garden of Eden will be fulfilled and cause God’s “will to be done as in Heaven also upon Earth” (Matt 6:9, 10). I hope you are comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).
