I first met David in the 80’s when he and his younger brother Mark stayed with Josephine over the hill from where we lived. We would run all over the hills getting into adventures on westside. Time went by, we went down different paths. David’s took him out of Josephine’s and into the dorms at St Labre. We met again in the early 90’s when we were both at Thunderchild treatment center in Wyoming. We would talk about choices we made and things we planned to do in the future. More time passed, it was around 2001, again our lives crossed paths this time in Missoula. David just got out of prison and was living in an apartment there as a part of the prerelease program. We filled each other in on the things we had done with our lives. He liked to draw and would show me things he finished and things he was working on. Eventually, David moved on and the last I had heard, he was in Billings living the way that he wanted to live. I remember David telling me how hard it was growing up and not really feeling like he had a place he could call home. I don’t know if he ever found that place but what I do know is that he was a good friend to me and I will remember that there was a boy and then a man who I had the honor of knowing.

To the family and friends,
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one.
When Jesus was on earth his friend Lazarus died. He was in the tomb for 4 days already when Jesus arrived. Mary and Martha, Lazarus’ sisters were grieving and Jesus gave way to tears. Jesus compared death to sleep. He called to Lazarus and Lazarus came back to life! You can read this wonderful true account in the Bible at John chapter 11. Jusus demonstrated what he will do for mankind when his kingdom government is ruling over all the earth. Our loved ones will come back to life! At time there will be no more pain or death (Revelation 21:3,4.)

I am so sorry to learn of David’s death. He was a wonderful young person to work with. He was also brilliant at mimicking my English accent. I have happy memories of him and his brother and sister.

To the family of David and George in particular, I am very sorry to hear of David’s passing. I got to know David last winter as the shelter brought him in many times and many nights I went out looking for him. My prayers are for you all in your loss and my prayer for David that is now home with family and God, that he forever in His presence and has finally found peace.
