Dawn Lee Adkins was born, April 6,1993 in Anchorage, Alaska to the late William Adkins and Lavonne Lafountain. Growing up she lived in Anchorage, Alaska; Lame Deer, Montana; Phoenix, Arizona; Oregon; and Washington. She served in the military from 2013-2016 in Anchorage, Alaska. She later met Terrell Paul whom she married and had a beautiful baby girl named Raissa Myell Adkins-Paul.
Going their own way, they continued to co-parent and love each other. Dawn was always traveling, loved to hunt, and was one heck of a roofer, proud owner of her own roofing business. She was a natural born veterinarian who loved to rescue animals and find them homes. She was always willing to help a loved one regardless of the situation and making sure everyone was taken care of before she thought of herself. She had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile & infectious laugh, and a silly sense of humor. She cherished family, friends, and her fur babies. Her heart was full of love and she always made room for more. She was all about family first, fellowshipping with loved ones, and creating memories. She was the family photographer of capturing special moments big and small. There is so much to say about her, she was and always will be a precious soul. People she didn’t know she would adopt them as family, that’s just how she was. She was all our kid’s aunty mom. She loved the outdoors and was always going on long walks and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Dawn always had a stash of candy or something sweet for later, never failed. She never hesitated in helping anyone, she had such a generous and selfless heart. She made many friends along the way.
Our hearts are heavy we couldn’t keep her longer, but God had a bigger plan for her and called her home on May 2,2024. She leaves behind tons of family and friends. Raissa her beautiful girl, Mother Lavonne Lafountain, Sisters; Jamie (Kent) Burnette, Nika Saunders, Gracia Revere, Sierra Horn and Jazmine Grimes. Brother; Tori Lafountain, Nieces; Taja Martinez, Grace & Lia Burnette, Eleonora & Alessia Vorontsov, Faith Alexander & La’milliette Georges, and Milah Delgado. Nephews; Elijah Burnette, Jayden & Xavier Lafountain, Cody & Tory Lafountain, and Demetrius & Armani Horn.
Dawn is preceded in Death by her Dad William Adkins, grandparents Carol & Rock Redcherries, sister/cousin Lupita Moriah Alegria.
We would like to thank the first responders, her medical team in Alaska, and all the support from the IHS community in Lame Deer, MT. We are very grateful for the love and support we received during this difficult time. Please forgive us if we forgot to mention your name as our family was big and Dawn included everyone she met as family. She was our loss and heavens gain. We will miss you precious sweet girl. Until we meet again.

Have Hope says
“Tis a Fearful Thing.
‘Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.
A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be –
to be,
And oh, to lose.
A thing for fools, this,
And a holy thing,
a holy thing
to love.
For your life has lived in me,
your laugh once lifted me,
your word was gift to me.
To remember this brings painful joy.
‘Tis a human thing, love,
a holy thing, to love
what death has touched.”

My heart is hurting. I miss you Dawn! You were an amazing sister who loved endlessly. I will miss the random calls and text messages. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to just pick up and keep going. The road to Billings is long and I wish you were here to keep me company with one of your random conversations. You were special Dawn, my Dawn. I’m missing you. My heart is lonely for you. Fly high, I will see you again some day. I love, love, love you precious sister.

Its hard not to watch your video over and over again. To pick up and go on is going to be difficult. I feel there is a piece missing. Flashbacks of you growing up play like a video in my mind. My heart wishes you could have stayed a little longer. I can’t be selfish. Before you belonged to us you first belonged to God. Your work here was done. God needed you home. Thank you for teaching me life lessons. I love you baby sister. Your memory will continue. You’ve left your prints everywhere. No goodbyes, but see you later sister.

Dawn meant the world to me and was by far one of the most amazing, funny, and loving friends I’ve ever made. I was told by DeeDee 3 weeks after Dawn had passed. It’s been a devastating loss and I continue to pray for Dawns family. You’ll forever be missed, Dawn.🖤 until we meet again.
