Debbies’ Funeral Service
Debra Kay Strand was born, May 30th 1953, in Culbertson, MT to Marvin “Buzz” Strand and Nancy (Lee) Strand. She lived in Plentywood, until 1962. Her Dad “Buzz” and Mom Gert Fink were married and the family moved to Glasgow.
As an adult Debbie was able to participate in Montana Development Disability Programs. Around 1975 she moved to Miles City, MT., to attend EMI. In 1980 she married Jesse Carpenter. They divorced. Later she met Ken Daly, the love of her life and they were married Oct. 10th, 2000.
She enjoyed rides, visiting, her cats and other people’s dogs. She did a great job singing Happy Birthday to anyone if she remembered their birthday. Sometimes very early in the morning, before some people even knew their birthday had started. Above all Debbie was very social and loved to visit with anyone willing to participate.
Deb embraced life, had a sense of humor and loved to visit about football. Her favorite teams were the Miles City Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. Or the team winning at a particular moment in a game. Debbie would tease Terrie when the Minesota Vikings were losing and Ken when 49ers were losing. She knew that when someone ran the ball across the goal line, everyone stands up and cheers.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Ken. Also, three sisters. Brenda Kerstein, Terrie (Butch) Kallem. Michelle (Derl) Fellon. And brother Mike (Heidi)Hodges Debbie is survived by many nieces and nephews, and three Great, Great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother, mother-in-law, brother in-law and niece.
Debbie has been a familiar face around Miles City, where she will be laid to rest.
