Delores Marie Ignacio, from Vasalia, California, formerly Birney, Montana, passed away after a long battle with a chronic illness on September 11, 2014 at the Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
She was born September 22, 1971 in Billings, Montana to Bernard Ignacio Sr. and Mary Kay Fighting Bear.
After going through the schools of Lame Deer, Montana, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is survived by her children David and Michelle Ignacio, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; her brother Bernard Ignacio, Jr. of Fort Hall, ID; her sister Bernadette Ignacio of Nashville, TN; her Uncles Ray and Ronnie Fighting Bear of Birney, MT and Homer Fighting Bear of Arapahoe, WY; Aunt Nathel Fighting Bear, Aunt Nancy Fighting Bear, Aunt Dolly Sandcrane, and Patty Oldman all of Birney, Montana,
She is preceded by death by her parents Bernard and Mary Kay Ignacio; her sister Wanima Ignacio; her grandparents Herbert & Margaret Fighting Bear, Joe & Nancy Sandcrane, and Freda Standing Elk; her aunts Marie and Serena Fighting Bear; and her uncle Robert Fighting Bear.

Delores and I spent a lot of time together here in Salt Lake City. She was always a wonderful person to be around and loved to laugh. No matter what she was going through, or how hard life was, she always had a smile and a kindness about her that would light up the room. I know that she made a lot of friends here and was always considered to be a part of our family here. I have a lot of memories to cherish of my dear friend and am very fortunate to have had spent the time with her that I did. My condolences to her family, and she talked of you all very often.
