Interment: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
Deloris Dee Sweeney, age 89, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Holy Rosary Healthcare Center in Miles City.
Deloris was born in Parkston, South Dakota on July 19, 1921, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Fischer) Leischner. She grew up and attended schools in South Dakota. Deloris married Ambrose William Red Sweeney on September 21, 1953 in Custer, South Dakota. In her early years in Miles City, she worked as a bookkeeper at Gambles and 19 years as the manager of the Community First Federal Credit Union.
Deloris was an avid exerciser who walked and loved to bowl. She also enjoyed attending Curves. She loved to clean house and did so to perfection.
Deloris is survived by two sons: Jim Sweeney of Billings, MT and Michael (Lynette) Sweeney of Belgrade, MT; two daughters: Mary Sweeney of Miles City, MT and Helen (Cliff) Ancelet of Clinton, TN; three brothers: Milton Leischner of Brandon, SD; Roger (Patsy) Leischner of Rochester, WA; and Denton (Evelyn) Leischner of Bremerton, WA; three sisters: Sylvia Clark of Chelkais, WA; Mary Ann (Chris) Saisslin of Kennewick, WA; and Elaine (Hans) Gartner of Rochester, WA; her grandchildren: Shelby, William, Katelyn, Ariel Martin; her great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Hunter, Riley, Gabriel and Rory; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Red Sweeney, daughter-in-law Kathy Sweeney and ten brothers and sisters: Edwin, Edna, Alma, Leo, Adella, Florence, Phyllis, Marvin, Morris and Viola.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
