Delpha Dawn Eaglefeathers – “Delpha Dirt” came into this world a caring, loving, and energetic Grandaughter, Daughter and Sister on November 4, 1979 to Mildred Eaglefeathers and Larry Beartusk. Delpha is a decendent of Chief Dull Knife and has a rich history in a long line of Chiefs. Her Indian name was Sestotóáe which means Cedar Woman.
On January 27, 2016 , Delpha was called home to be with the creator and our family members that have gone on before us. Delpha was 36 years old.
While growing up Delpha was a very well-known basketball player, playing for the Lame Deer Chief and Morning Stars. She ended her High School Basketball years honored as All-State for the Wyoming Indian High Lady Chiefs of Ethete, WY.
She then started her motherhood with John Cody, her common law husband of many years. Together they share three beautiful and intelligent children. Her oldest child is Jonathan Jaren Cody, her only son, and her daughters are Iesha Dawn Cody and Tyreaha Mae Cody. She loved her children with everything she had and all of her heart.
Delpha was talented and was a quick learner. This proved advantageous during her years in the workforce. She worked in the Oil Fields of North Dakota, and she found a passion for carpentry while doing contract work with her brother Dana and while working for the N.C. Housing Authority.
Delpha is survived by her mother Mildred Eaglefeathers and Father Larry Beartusk . Brothers: Duane(Natalia), Dana Sr (Starr Miller, Jalyn, Chalcy, Dana Jr, Ivan, Lisa, Mona, Cody, Samual and Allysa), Larry Jr Beartusk and Shawn Eaglefeathers (Shayann, Precious and Shawnee). Sisters: Lari (Shandelly) and Dezbah Beartusk and Shandi Eaglefeathers (Shalay and Tracen). Maternal Uncle Moke Eaglefeathers, Paternal Uncle Marvin Beartusk and Maternal Aunts; Darlene Hamilton, Jeanie Beartusk and Carolyn Whiteman. Cousin Brothers and Sisters: Butt-Butt, Sugar Pie, Tyra, Tami, Chey, Joni, Mychal, Lil’ Moke, Michelle, Dornie, Big, Little, Chuck, Mavis, Jonathan, Contessa, Jessie, Starlyn, Jason Jr and Aro Scott .
Delpha was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents Milton and Mamie Eaglefeathers, Maternal Aunts Delpha, Milene and Twila Eaglefeathers, Marietha Hendrickson; cousins Denise Shoulderblade and Stephanie Currier and nephew Jerome Shoulderblade.
