Delpha Harris, Morning Star Woman-Voohehevevo’estaneo’o, 83, went to Heaven in March 11, 2021. Born to George Harris Sr and Marie American Horse. She grew up at Muddy Creek, MT
She was raised by her grandma Margaret Twenty Stands and William Harris, aunt’s Mary Ewing & Lizzy Elliot. She attended elementary & high school at St. Labre Indian School, graduating and played basketball there. She married Lawson Waters Sr in 1955 and they ranched in the Wounded Knee jct east of Pine Ridge, SD. She was employed by the IHS while residing in SD. They divorced in 1979. She retired as the BIA Realty Officer at the BIA Sacramento Area Office, her career in Real Estate spanned 28 years as she worked at various agencies from Lame Deer, MT, Portland, OR, Lapwai, ID, Parker, AZ, Ft. Duchesyne, UT, Pendleton, OR.
Her survivors are Patricia, Jerry and Tana Waters. She had 8 grandchildren she dearly loved..
Tiffany Small, Mike Neveaux, Johnny Waters, Kristen, Rutger & Rick Waters, Wacey Waters and Renee Blackhawk and 9 great grandchildren.

I was so saddened to read of Delpha’s passing. She was such an amazing lady, and when I worked in Lame Deer she used to invite me for coffee and to check out her latest beading projects!
