Dennis Dale Bardon passed away April 19, 2017 at his home in Rosebud. He was born October 31, 1951 in Miles City, MT to Marvin and Uva Jackson Bardon.

Dennis grew up on Sweeney Creek and attended school in Rosebud graduating in 1969. In 1971 he and Velma Thomas were married and to this union two children were born, Jess and Jerette. Dennis later married Bonnie Beddor in 1983 and he gained two more daughters, Heidi and Amy.

He worked various jobs during his lifetime including H.L Hunt Oil Company (Ball Ranch), Heberle Ford, and Burlington Northern Railroad. He was self-employed as a gunsmith and machinist, and eventually retired from the Montana State Highway Department. Dennis had a love of building and refurbishing old cars with his dad, brother, son, and several close friends. He had an avid interest in guns and was an excellent marksman. He was full of knowledge when it came to guns which he passed down to his son and many other friends. He was a member of the Forsyth Rifle and Pistol Club and was involved in the Matthew Quigley Buffalo Rifle Match every year. Dennis also enjoyed the history of Montana and his family. He loved showing his kids and grandkids all of his old photographs.

Dennis is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Bardon, parents Marv and Uva, and his brother Bruce Bardon.

Dennis is survived by his son Jess (Robin) Bardon, three daughters, Jerette (Derek) Mitzkus, Heidi Roberts, and Amy Wright. Ten grandchildren, Shannon Marie, Sara (Brandon) Camp, Brady and Gwendolyn Mitzkus, Marshall, Hannah and Brady Don Morgan, Elizabeth and Hunter Wright, and Jaxon Brandt, a niece Tammy Bardon (Steven) Vook and her son Matthew Bardon, and Kalu Rogenes and families.

Not ready for this. I had a million stupid questions about guns to ask Dennis. Will never forget the good times and his smile when he answered my questions.

We are very sorry to hear of everyone’s loss. Dennis was a great guy-a lot of good gun conversations and Ford vs Chevy ribbing was had while the family lived in Big Timber. Rest in peace Dennis, and take care all of you!
