In Memory Of

Dennis Stoltz, age 66, of Miles City.

November 20, 1951 – August 19, 2018

Dennis Dale Stoltz passed away Sunday, August 19, at the family ranch west of Miles City, Montana.

Dennis was born November 20, 1951, in Miles City to Matt and Julia Stoltz and was a 1970 graduate of Custer County District High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army where he bravely served from 1971-1973 and was a proud, decorated veteran of the Vietnam War.

Following his return home from the service he met the love of his life, Sheryl Jones. They were married on September 7, 1974 and immediately moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended Denver Automotive & Diesel College.  After 13 years in the Denver area, Dennis moved his family back to Miles City where he fulfilled his dream of owning his own ranch in the wide-open spaces he adored.  Dennis loved spending time with his family, working on the ranch, barbequing, eating cashews, and enjoying action movies.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Matt & Julia Stoltz. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl of Miles City, MT; daughter, Michelle, of Raeford, North Carolina; sister, Mary Ann, of Miles City, MT; and brother, Jim Stoltz.

Services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home, with interment held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting:  www.stevensonandsons.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

    August 23, 2018 at 8:02 am

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Dennis’ passing. Dennis always showed such kindness and compassion to our family. Especially for our brother Greg. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. Reading the many tributes reminds us that the true measure of a person is not in material things. It is the souls one touches in positivecways as you take life’s journey here on earth. We hope Sheryl and family take great comfort in knowing his was a life well lived. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
