Dina Elizabeth “Betty” Hageman, beloved mother and grandmother, was beckoned home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Garfield County Health Center in her home town of Jordan, MT. She was 92 years old.
Betty was the first born child to Baan and Miriam (Houser) Wille in Forsyth, MT, on April 4, 1924. She spent her childhood in the Brusett area where her family ran grocery and hardware stores. Frontier times were tough, and when Betty was 7 years old, her younger sister, Baan Jean, and mother died within months of one another. Later, her father remarried Clara Ann (Yeske) and moved the family to Jordan, MT. Betty graduated from Garfield County High School in 1942, and married Treloar “Bud” Kester shortly after. From this marriage were born her two sons, David Gene in 1946 and Baan Gene in 1948. On September 23, 1954, Betty married the love of her life, Harold Hageman, in Winnemucca, NV. Harold had three sons from a previous marriage. Betty loved to bake, and was known around the community for her cookies and pies, almond roca at Christmas, and birthday “money cakes.” She enjoyed entertaining her friends, playing canasta, and spending time with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Baan and Miriam, stepmother, Clara Ann, sister Baan Jean, brother Sterling Jan, and husband Harold.
She is survived by her two sons, David Gene Kester and Baan Gene Kester, her brother Baan Duane Wille. Grandchildren Ryan (Stacey) Kester, Aaron Kester, Kristopher Kester, and Sarian Kester. Special sister in law Jane Wille, and special niece Karmie Lockie. Three step sons: George (Susan) Hageman, Bob (Donna) Hageman, and Glenn (Kate) Hageman; and their extended families. Two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan, MT. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Jordan Swimming Pool in her name.

Aunt Betty was just “Aunt Betty” when I was a kid growing up! She had been married to my “Uncle Bud” for some time, but after they divorced, she was still “Aunt Betty” . She was always very good to all of we kids, and visited and always wanted to know how we were doing! She will be missed! Condolences to Dave and Baan, and the rest of her family!
