Dodge Allen Ruiz, age 27 passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2025, from a tragic firearm accident in Belgrade, MT.
Dodge was born in Miles City, Montana on March 5, 1998, to Angel Kountz and Josh Ruiz. Dodge spent a lot of time going back and forth from Miles City to Townsend, Montana spending as much time outdoors as he could. Whether it was for fishing, hunting, camping or hanging out with his family and friends you could always count on him being there. Dodge also took pleasure in gaming on his PlayStation, watching scary/horror movies, playing board games with his family and loved to teach the kids how to shoot guns. Dodge was a brother, and the love he had for each of his siblings was meaningful and deeply personal. Dodge is survived by his siblings: Dakota Kountz, Keyle Ruiz, Kali Nelson, Morgan Hoff, Wyatt Hoff and Travin Ruiz. In 2016, 2017, and 2024 Dodge became an uncle and was overfilled with joy. Dodge took advantage of every chance he got to spend time with his nieces and nephew, from fishing to playing nerf guns through the house, Dodge was always down to play. Dodge is survived by his nieces and nephew: Kimberlii Anzures, Tyson Anzures and Wrenley Donnely. In 2015 and 2020 Dodge became a father. Full of delight, Dodge tried to be the best father he knew how. Dodge is survived by his two children: Hazel and Kieran Ruiz. The summer of 2021 Dodge met the love of his life and eloped in Las Vegas, NV. Dodge gained three bonus children and loved them each like they were his own. Dodge was a wonderful father, from teaching our kids how to ride their bikes to doing their hair and nails, he was always involved. Many memories were made and so much laughter was shared. Dodge is survived by his loving wife Teal Harris Ruiz; his three bonus children: Sophie Blanchard, Kenna Harris and June Kibodeaux. Dodge’s kindness, strength and humility touched not just his family but all that knew him. His contagious smile and goofy sense of humor would light up any room he was in and make even the worst day seem a bit brighter. Dodge was a genuine friend who provided consistent support, loyalty and honesty, standing by you through thick and thin. Dodge is survived by his best friend Caleb Hoveland, his friends Dylan Ridenhour, Nathan Anzures, Clyde Hogue and many more friends.
Dodge was preceded in death by his grandmother Connie Kountz; his best friend Levi Kenitzer; his aunt Wendy Wilson; his grandmother Becky Ruiz; his dearest friend Chad Hirsch.
