Dolly Mae Grainger Pfeifle Gaub, age 89, passed away from a short illness on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the Prairie Community Nursing Home in Terry.
Dolly was born in Baker, MT, to Vic and Catherine Grainger 5 minutes before her twin sister, Della, and joining brother George. She graduated from Baker High School in 1945 and entered Army Nurse Corp training. She and Barney Pfeifle were married August 25, 1946, and welcomed their son Gary in 1947. They later divorced. Dolly attended beauty school graduating in 1957. She moved to Terry in 1958 and purchased her own beauty shop in a town she thought was a good place to raise her son. Dolly and Edward Gaub were married on May 27, 1961, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Dolly was a lifelong caregiver, taking care of everyone in the neighborhood. She always had the best stock of toys and unconditional love. Dolly enjoyed sewing, gardening, genealogy, and handwork. She especially got great pleasure from quilting; every winter a new project was started and each was stitched with love.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and grandson, Kristoffer Pfiefle. She is survived by her husband Edward, her son, Gary Pfiefle (Lois), and grandson Mikael Pfiefle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews with Kay Blakely (George) and Keith Carver (Connie) living close and seeing her often.
Should family and friends desire, memorials may be made to the Prairie Community Hospital Foundation or to a charity of their choice.
A private family graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 14th, with Pastor Katie Emery officiating.
