Funeral services: Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.

Interment: Will be held in Minnesota at a later date.

Dolores Catherine Helm Hecht age 83 of Miles City passed away on October 24, 2010 in

Miles City.Dolores was born in Aberdeen, SD, November 11, 1926, daughter of Nels Albert and Grace Hart Helm. Her father was a bridge and building forman for the Milwaukee Railroad and they lived in a rail car and traveled with the job until she was about 4 years old. At that time the family settled in Miles City where she attended school and graduated from Custer County High School in 1944. After graduation she attended the junior college and worked for the Miles City Mercantile.

On November 29, 1947, she married Robert L. Hecht and moved to Forsyth, MT. While in Forsyth, prior to the start of her family, she was a legal secretary for Fritz Haynes. After her family was complete she began working for Vic East at the Bulk Plant which later became Petrolane Gas as their office manager for the next 30 years. After her retirement in 1991, she moved to Billings where she enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincents Hospital, getting together with old friends and classmates and playing cards. She also enjoyed traveling and took many trips and cruises. But visiting with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life. In 2004 she returned to Miles City where she had resided until the time of her death. While in Forsyth she was a member of the Federated Church, VFW Auxiliary, Forsyth Country Club, and enjoyed league bowling for many years.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Dr. Robert and Mary Hecht of Helena, MT., Dr. Don and Michelle Hecht of Lewistown, MT., Dr. Ron and Jeanne Hecht of Bozeman, MT., and two daughters and their husband's, Catherine and Butch Smith of Miles City, MT., and Lynn and Jim Rusch of Laramie, WY., brother, Don Helm of Hathaway, MT., and grandchildren, Shawna, Micah, Tarun, Navaneeta (Bryce), Courtney (Andrew), Morgan, Banner, Sunni, Chelsea, Shelby and Kramer Hecht, Kanyon (Julie), Brandel (Peggy) Smith, Jennifer (JR) and Christopher Rusch and 6 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Grace and by an infant brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Funeral services will be held at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth, MT., on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in the family plot at Hokah, Minnesota at a later date.
