Dolores (Tootie) Jane Gibbs, age 77, of Jordan, Montana, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Vincents Health Care in Billings.

Dolores was born on January 1, 1931 in Glendive, Montana, the daughter of Leonard and Anna (Malkuch) Nickels. She was raised and attended schools in Glendive, graduating from Dawson County High School. Following her graduation she worked in the Glendive Hospital. Dolores met and married Gerald Gibbs in Glendive in 1952. They moved to the family ranch east of Jordan where they raised their family.Dolores was a member of the St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. She enjoyed horseback riding in her younger days, traveling and growing the most beautiful flowers in her garden. Dolores enjoyed keeping track of her grandkids. She always looked her best and kept her home in perfect order. Dolores was a gracious hostess and always had a variety of food ready when friends and family stopped in for a visit. Dessert regularly included a large serving of vanilla ice cream, many times scooped from a three gallon pail. No one left her kitchen feeling hungry.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Gerald Gibbs of Jordan, MT, two sons, Robert (Debbie) Gibbs and Patrick (Bev) Gibbs all of Jordan, MT, six grandchildren; William (Bridgett), Jay R., Collin, Timothy, Nathan and Nolan Gibbs, two nieces: Shirley Powell of Bozeman, MT and Maureen Reynolds of Gillette, WY and a childhood friend, Judy Rice of Glendive, MT.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Jordan Ambulance Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
