Dona Zimmer, age 64 passed away on March 25, 2017 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Dona was born on April 4th, 1952 to Donald and Bette (Hall) Gulden in Missoula, MT. She was raised by many people that referred to as her foster parents in several towns and communities in Montana until she moved back to Miles City when she was 11 years old. Dona graduate from Custer County High School and continued her education on the GI bill. She received two business associate degrees while working and being a mother. She married Dale W. Bennett in 1970. To this union their son David was born May 10, 1974. Dona worked in several businesses in bookkeeping and office work. She owned and operated the H & R block office in Miles City. Dona and her mother owned and operated the C & R Laundry on Main Street in Miles City. After selling the two businesses she went to Billings and worked for several years for a CPA firm. She married Ray McWilliams in 1996 and they enjoyed traveling together until his death in September of 2000. She married John R. Zimmer in March 2003. Dona had many loves of her life but her first love was her son and the hardest one she had to let go. She loved her parents, siblings and special friends. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and then again in 2016. Dona loved her pets, gardening, crafts, genealogy, and restoring 2nd hand store treasures. She hopes that people will forgive her trespasses as she has forgiven those who have trespassed against her. She truly believed life was a work in progress and many times thought, “if only I had known then what I know now, things could have been different.”
She is survived by her husband John Zimmer; son David (Sarah); sister Bella (Greg) Garstang; brother Jerry (LaVon) Gulden, grandsons William, Calin and Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dona was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Tami James, her daughter in law Melinda Bennett and little nephew Tim-Tim James.

Dona your passing is hard for me to accept . I like you thought you would come through the surgery and recover and then we would make plans to travel and spend lots of time at each others home admiring our flowers and veggies. I miss you so much, you have been like a sister to me. You were so genuine and always willing to aid me through rough waters and offer kind gentle wisdom. I know God is in control of all things and trust Him in ways weather I understand or not. I will be praying for Jack, David and Bella as they go through this dark valley. But one thing we can all do is hang on to the wonderful memories we made with you.
