Donald Ayers

Funeral Services: Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, Montana.

Donald Henry Ayers, age 69, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Billings Clinic with family by his side.

Donald was born on March 11, 1942 in Lewistown, Montana, the fourth son of Henry and Garnet Ayers. He lived on the Bar L Ranch west of Suffolk until the fall of 1947 when the family moved to Denton. He entered the first grade and attended school in Denton until his sophomore year of high school when he parents moved to Wilsall. Donald graduated high school in Wilsall in 1960. After his graduation, he worked on a ranch until the winter quarter when he attended Billings Business College. He then went to work for Big Horn Construction in Wyoming as a field office accountant. He was in Worland, Gillette, Sundance, Pine Bluffs, and Green River, Wyoming. While working in Pine Bluffs, he met and married Cheryl Dick on February 14, 1965. They later moved to Cody, where he was employed by Husky Oil. While in Cody, their family grew with the addition of David Alan, Duane Michael, Kristin Lynn, and James Thomas JT. Donald moved to Colstrip and worked for Western Energy. He and Cheryl later divorced, and Donald moved to Forsyth where he continued to work for the mine. On May 28, 1982, Donald married Beverly Rollins. He left Western Energy and bought his own truck, and worked hauling mobile homes from factories to dealerships. He later sold his truck and began truck-driving for Drinkwalter Trucking, hauling hot oil to highway construction sites. Donald retired and lived with his wife, Bev, in Forsyth. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing in pool league, and spending time with friends and family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Forsyth; his brother, George (Bev), of Billings, Montana; his son, David (Kika) of Cibolo, Texas; his son, Duane (Michele) of Forsyth, Montana; his daughter, Kristin (Kevin) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his son, James (Susan) of Seattle, Washington; his step-daughter, Cindy Rollins (Mick Kautzman) of Minot, North Dakota; his step-son, Brett Rollins (Kim) of Billings, Montana; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, Montana, with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, Montana.
