Donald Donnie Dann, age 72, of Terry passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 at his home in Terry after an 11 year battle with lung disease.
Donnie was born in Hardin, Montana on April 15, 1936, the son of Ralph and Orpha (Woodard) Dann. At the age of 3, his family bought a ranch on Timber Creek. Donnie and his sister grew up there and helped run the ranch. Donnie graduated from Circle High School in 1952. He worked for theHinnaland ranch before entering the Army in 1962. He served in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked for Logan Trucking and did construction work. Donnie went to work for the Montana Department of Transportation, first at Flowing Wells, and was later transferred to the Terry shop. He retired after 29 years in 1993.
Donnies favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and working on old cars. Donnie was an hone'st, hard working man that was quick with a smile and willing to help anyone at anytime. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Donnie is survived by his wife Joan; his son Ralph (Debbie) Dann; three step children: Karla Vitley, William Sharp and his friend Diana Welch, and Blaine (Shona) Sharp; seven grandchildren: Beth Vitley and her fianc Kerry Gloser, KaralieVitley, Jeremy Henry, Aron Martel, Michael Sharp, Joshua Sharp, and Tyler Sharp; two step great grandchildren: Kelton Gloser and Aubrey Henry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
