Graveside Service: Thursday, January 8, 2004 11:00 a.m. at the Eastern Montana State Veteran Cemetery with Full Military Honors
Donald J. McKintosh, age 73, of Miles City, MT passed away on December 28, 2003 at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Donald was born on June 23, 1930 in Miles City, MT the son of Donald, Sr. and Gladys (Muri) McKintosh. He attended school in Miles City graduating for Custer County High School. He joined the United States Army in September of 1946 where he served in Japan until 1949. In June of 1950 he reenlisted serving in the Korean Conflict until he was injured and sent to Doug Way, Utah. After recuperating he was sent to Germany until he was discharged. He again reenlisted and was stationed in California and later went back to Germany. In 1957 he became a field man for the U.S. Army going to Europe and the Far East. He retired from the military in 1971. He then went to work for Lantis Trucking, Murphy Trucking, Tom Tyler, Gene Clendenen Trucking, and retired in 1991. He received several honorable medals while serving in the U.S. Army including the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Occupational Medal, and several others.
Donald is survived by his cousins: Beverly Haynes of Miles City, MT, Dolly Henderson of Cortez, CO, and Douglas Muri of Graham, WA, and his uncle Alvin Muri of Miles City, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2003 in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2004 11:00 a.m. at the Eastern Montana State Veteran Cemetery.
